Bertil Peter Eriksson was born on 18 May 1969 in Göteborg. His IFK Göteborg first-team career began in the 1988 season. He came through IFK Göteborg's youth system before the senior debut and is regarded by the club as a home-grown player. He made his competitive debut on 15 May 1988 against Östers IF in Allsvenskan, a match that finished 1–0.

He spent 12 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 423 appearances and scoring 92 goals. Of those 423 appearances, 156 came in Allsvenskan.

Eriksson won the Swedish championship with IFK Göteborg in 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1995 and 1996. He was part of an IFK Göteborg Swedish Cup-winning side in 1991. He was named IFK Göteborg's Archangel of the Year in 1993. Eriksson made 1 senior international appearance for Sweden.
