Biography

Stephen David Gardner was born on October 7, 1958 in Hemsworth, England and made his IFK Göteborg debut in the 1983 season, which was also the debut season of team mate Roland Nilsson. As a result of this, he became the first player from England to represent IFK Göteborg. At 24 years, 9 months and 19 days, on July 27, 1983, he took part his first competetive game against Mjällby AIF in an Allsvenskan game that ended 0–0. He has spent two seasons with the IFK Göteborgs first team, and during his career he played in 63 first team games and scored 31 goals. Out of these 63 first team games, 27 were Allsvenskan games.
