Overview
Sven Richard Friberg was born on 7 February 1895 in Lysekil. His IFK Göteborg first-team career began in the 1913 season. He came through IFK Göteborg's youth system before the senior debut and is regarded by the club as a home-grown player. He made his competitive debut on 11 October 1914 against Djurgårdens IF in Svenska Serien, a match that finished 3–7.
He spent 3 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 4 appearances.
In 1924, he won Olympic bronze with the national team. Friberg made 41 senior international appearances for Sweden.
Friberg died on 26 May 1964, aged 69.
