He spent 2 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 12 appearances and scoring 1 goal. Of those 12 appearances, 6 came in Allsvenskan.

In 1924, he won Olympic bronze with the national team. Svensson made 6 senior international appearances for Sweden, scoring 2 goals.

For seasons before 1922, surviving participation records are not always complete. Match and goal totals from that period should therefore be read as the best available documented record.
