Biography

Åke Harald Östergren was born on April 1, 1914 in Göteborg and made his IFK Göteborg debut in the 1938/39 season, which was also the debut season of team mate Holger Bennhov (Bengtsson). Östergren was part of IFK Göteborg's youth program before making his debute with the first team, and is as a result of that regarded by the club as a home-grown player. At 25 years, 1 month and 12 days, on May 14, 1939, he took part his first competetive game against Tidaholms GoIF in a Division 2 Västra game that ended 1–1. He spent one season with the IFK Göteborgs first team, and during his career he played in 2 first team games. Östergren passed away in 1966, 52 years old.
