Overview
Anders Edvard Rydberg was born on 3 March 1903 in Göteborg. His IFK Göteborg first-team career began in the 1923/24 season. He came through IFK Göteborg's youth system before the senior debut and is regarded by the club as a home-grown player. He made his competitive debut on 2 May 1924 against Örgryte IS in Svenska Serien, Division 1, a match that finished 0–5.
He spent 16 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 465 appearances. Of those 465 appearances, 291 came in Allsvenskan.
Rydberg won the Swedish championship with IFK Göteborg in 1934-35. Rydberg made 24 senior international appearances for Sweden.
Rydberg died on 26 October 1989, aged 86.
