Biography

Joel Benjamin Appelgren was born on July 2, 1893 in Göteborg and made his IFK Göteborg debut in the 1913 season, which was also the debut season of team mate Erik Hjelm. At 21 years, 2 months and 24 days, on September 27, 1914, he took part his first competetive game against Mercantile SFK in a Vänskapsmatch game that ended 1–1.
