Player profile

Overview

Erik Valdemar Andersson was born on 1 January 1898 in Göteborg. His IFK Göteborg first-team career began in the 1917 season. He came through IFK Göteborg's youth system before the senior debut and is regarded by the club as a home-grown player. He made his competitive debut on 7 November 1920 against Helsingborgs IF in Svenska Serien, Division 1, a match that finished 0–1.

He spent 13 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 284 appearances and scoring 13 goals. Of those 284 appearances, 126 came in Allsvenskan.

Andersson made 7 senior international appearances for Sweden.

Andersson died on 19 June 1974, aged 76.

For seasons before 1922, surviving participation records are not always complete. Match and goal totals from that period should therefore be read as the best available documented record.
