Player profile

Overview

Max Henry Almén was born on 22 February 1896 in Göteborg. His IFK Göteborg first-team career began in the 1911 season. He came through IFK Göteborg's youth system before the senior debut and is regarded by the club as a home-grown player. He made his competitive debut on 15 October 1911 against Örgryte IS in Svenska Serien, a match that finished 6–2.

He spent 8 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 102 appearances and scoring 1 goal.

Almén won the Swedish championship with IFK Göteborg in 1918. Almén made 4 senior international appearances for Sweden.

Almén died on 20 January 1974, aged 77.

For seasons before 1922, surviving participation records are not always complete. Match and goal totals from that period should therefore be read as the best available documented record.
