Overview

Bengt Erik Markus Berg was born on 17 August 1986 in Torsby. His IFK Göteborg first-team career began in the 2005 season. He came through IFK Göteborg's youth system before the senior debut and is regarded by the club as a home-grown player. He made his competitive debut on 10 April 2005 against Malmö FF in Allsvenskan, a match that finished 2–1.

He spent 6 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 179 appearances and scoring 71 goals. Of those 179 appearances, 118 came in Allsvenskan.

Berg won the Swedish championship with IFK Göteborg in 2007. He was named IFK Göteborg's Archangel of the Year in 2022. In 2007, he finished as Allsvenskan's top scorer with 14 goals. Berg made 90 senior international appearances for Sweden, scoring 24 goals.
