Sebastian Anders Fredrik Eriksson was born on 31 January 1989 in Åsebro. His IFK Göteborg first-team career began in the 2007 season. He came through IFK Göteborg's youth system before the senior debut and is regarded by the club as a home-grown player. He made his competitive debut on 5 July 2007 against Gefle IF in the Swedish Cup, a match that finished 3–0.

He spent 14 seasons with IFK Göteborg's first team and made 368 appearances and scoring 19 goals. Of those 368 appearances, 250 came in Allsvenskan.

He was part of an IFK Göteborg Swedish Cup-winning side in 2008 and 2014/15. He was named IFK Göteborg's Archangel of the Year in 2017. Eriksson made 7 senior international appearances for Sweden.
